Lavender and honey adds a sweet and floral take to traditional butter. After one simple step of combining these ingredients, it also makes for an impressive gift when rolled in parchment paper. This is something that would be perfect for someone who is sweet and beautiful - like your grandma.
Lavender and Honey Butter
Yield: 1/2 cup
Active Time: 1 minute
Total Time: 1 hour
1/2 c. unsalted butter, softened at room temperature
1/2 tsp. dried lavender, crushed
1 tsp. honey
1) In a bowl, combine ingredients and mix well.
2) Place mixture on a layer of plastic wrap. Roll into a log by carefully picking up one end of the plastic wrap and rolling it over the mixture. Twist each end tight and refrigerate for one hour.
Gifting Idea:
When the butter mixture has hardened in the fridge, remove plastic wrap and re-roll in a sheet of parchment paper. Twist each end shut (like a bonbon candy wrapper) and secure with twine or a ribbon. Return to refrigerator and keep chilled. When ready to enjoy, simply unwrap and use as a spread on baked goods.
